Denmark DAY V
Juno the BAKERY
Juno the BAKERY |
Many years ago, former Noma chef Emil Glaser missed the cardamom rolls at his Copenhagen bakery. Emil Glaser grew up eating cardamom rolls in Sweden and decided they should be part of the Juno range, which opened in 2017. At Juno, you'll find pastries made from carefully selected organic ingredients focusing on the taste experience. At Juno, everything is baked fresh several times a day, and you'll find sourdough bread and rolls, pistachio croissants, and Juno's signature cardamom rolls.
The bakery is located in Århusgade, near Østerbrogade. Collect your pastries from Juno and enjoy them around the charming streets of Østerbro.
Opening Hours:
Wed-Sat 7:30-18:00
Sunday 8:00-15:00
Monday & Tuesday: Closed
Århusgade 48, 2100 Kbh Ø
Amalienborg Palace & Change of Guard
Change of Guard |
Located between the city and the harbor, Amalienborg is a masterpiece of Danish architecture, designed by architect Nicolai Eigtved in the 1750s. Four palaces surround Amalienborg Palace Square and the equestrian statue of Frederick V. The palace was built as a residence for four princes, but after the old Christiansborg Palace burned down in 1794, the royal family settled in Amalienborg. Since then it has been occupied by the Danish rulers.

Tivoli Gardens: October Halloween
Halloween_Fall Vibes |
"About a century before Disneyland was built, Tivoli welcomed its first guests to this idyllic Danish theme park in picturesque Copenhagen - and Hans Christian Anderson was in attendance! The gardens and classic rides evoke nostalgia for simpler times—a feeling that has been lost in more modern parks"
Following the success of turning the park into a Christmas theme park in the 1990s, going to Tivoli Gardens to enjoy autumn fun on Halloween has become a new choice for tourists. However, the family-friendly atmosphere is still one of silly pumpkins and friendly ghosts rather than the jump scares and spooky scenes favored by other parks.
Tivoli Gardens is the second-oldest beguilement amusement park in the world. Even though the Disney parks are presently much superior known, this stop is thought to be what propelled Walt Disney to develop his own amusement industry.
During October, Tivoli Gardens open their gates towards the end of the month, for Halloween; it is filled with the beautiful sound of children laughing and skeletons crawling. Definitely a must-watch stop!
Food & Culture: DØP for Hotdogs
![]() |
DØP |
In Denmark, hotdogs have a long and illustrious history dating back to 1920. They are frequently served with fried or raw onions, pickles, mustard, ketchup, and remoulade on a bun or rye bread, as well as occasionally mashed root vegetables. Other cuisines, like pulled pork, chili, cheese, or salsa, have served as inspiration for some of the best hotdog toppings.
One of the best places in Denmark for street food, and more specifically Hot Dogs is DØP!
DØP
Opening Hours:
Monday- Saturday 11AM to 18.30PM
Closed on Sundays
DØP has hotdog stands at the Round Tower and the Church of the Holy Ghost, both located in central Copenhagen.
Strøget
One of Europe's longest pedestrian streets, Strøget is home to a wide variety of shops, including some of the priciest brands in the world and budget-friendly chains. From City Hall Square (Rdhuspladsen) to Kongens Nytorv, a 1.1-kilometer stretch is present.
If you cross the canal near Strøget in Amagertorv you will see Christiansborg Palace where the Parliament sits. Don’t forget Rådhuspladsen with the Copenhagen Town Hall Tower, the beautiful Kongens Nytorv, the Royal Danish Theater, and Nyhavn at the other end of Strøget. The pedestrian zone is also a popular hangout for the city's street artists.
Hygge: stop at Nyhavn for a last beer, or maybe just buy one from Netto and enjoy the sunset
That's where my Solo Traveling experience in Copenhagen ends! My next stop is Sweden!
